Jordan creates a composition of a landscape with traditional Palestinian patterns. Then women weavers in the Hebron region select the colors and stitch the patterns. The result is a Western and non-Western combination. Palestinian village traditions of embroidery mix with the Palestinian diaspora that Jordan grew up in. The image of the landscape is imaginary, yet specific, visionary and hopeful.
Farming and art are both superb forms of nonviolent resistance. Jordan has used his artistry to keep Palestinian farmers on their land. He held two limited edition poster sales on his instagram page to raise money for the PFTA in 2021. He planted olive trees (1584 olive trees) and heritage seeds (landrace seeds for 269 donums with 45 farmers). Roots in the ground give back to Palestine again and again. Thank you, Jordan, for your amazing talent and support.
